Form Alterations

Custom form alterations can be done to achieve different positions from the standard mount positions available. Here are a few examples I've completed.  The first was for Dave, a customer who wanted his cat mounted in a laying down position.

Dave wanted his cat to be mounted laying down.

This was the standard form we started with.

I made cuts into the form to allow for the position modifications.

Completed custom form.

Bruce wanted his bear mounted on this form but wanted the head turned the other way.  He and his son came into my shop and I altered his to exactly what he wanted.  Here are the photos to show the process:

Bruce was very happy with the new turn.  It was rasped and sanded smooth and was just as good as the original form.

These two bobcats were mounted on forms that started out identical simple standing forms.  They were chopped up and glued back together in the pose I wanted.
